The Long Ma Tong Qing Yuan Cha is one of the iconic packaging from the late 90s productions, which have now become particularly sought after.

After more than two decades of natural aging, this Yiwu Sheng Pu-erh reaches a fascinating stage: its natural fermentation is now extremely advanced.

We are here at the rare boundary between two worlds.

This tea remains an authentic Sheng Pu-erh, but its evolution now allows it to develop certain characteristics usually found in great ripe (Shu) Pu-erh: exceptional roundness, absence of bitterness, oily texture with a very calm character

But unlike an artificially fermented Shu, this transformation required more than twenty years of patience.

The result is much more subtle, deep, noble, and complex.

Today, this cake is in an exceptional tasting period.

Dry:

The nose is particularly fragrant, enveloping with a rare vanilla dimension, highlighting the advanced evolution of the leaf. Also very pronounced with ancient precious wood, aged leather, noble resin, dried fruits, and delicate camphor

Taste

From the first sips, the texture is impressive:

The attack is sweet, round, and extremely mature.

We find camphor, vanilla, aged honey, noble wood, dried fruits, aged leather with refined medicinal notes and a soft minerality.

The almost total absence of astringency is reminiscent of some very old, high-end cooked Pu-erh with the roundness of forest humus after rain.

The tea develops a magnificent Hui Gan, long, sweet, and persistent.

Infusion after infusion, new aromatic layers appear.

Tone

Deep amber-red liquor. Clear; Bright; Oily

A color evocative of perfectly matured great Sheng.

Dense, velvety, smooth, and very persistent

Preparation

Dosage: 8 grams

Rinsing: 2 quick rinses at 100°C

Infusion:

First infusion: 6 seconds at 90°C

Then gradually increase up to 15 seconds

Potential: 15 to 20 infusions

Storage

Store in its original packaging in a dry environment free of strong odors. It contains asperities with whitish reflections due to its age. Like all great aged Sheng, this tea continues to mature with elegance.
