Zha'an, Zhangzhou, Fujian, China (Min Nan)
Specificity:
Rare aged Oolong tea (2011 harvest), prepared according to a unique ancestral method: a whole grapefruit, hollowed out and then filled with Oolong tea, before being slowly dried and matured.
This tea belongs to the tradition of reworked teas and traditional Chinese medicinal teas, passed down for centuries in southern Fujian.
Known as "the tea of success," its origin lies in the story of General Zheng Chenggong (Koxinga), who is said to have distributed this tea to the population during an epidemic in the 17th century, helping to restore health and balance.
Packaging:
250 grams, carefully preserved to maintain its aromatic richness and allow for natural evolution
Bouquet:
Deep and captivating, blending the zesty freshness of ripe grapefruit with the roundness of aged Oolong tea.
Notes of:
- honey and candied citrus
- osmanthus, chrysanthemum, almond
- ripe apricot and yellow fruits
- sweet wood and slightly caramelized nuances
An enveloping aroma, both bright and deep, that fills the space from the moment of infusion.
Properties:
Both tea and traditional remedy, this beverage is renowned for its benefits:
- Soothes the throat and clears the voice
- Regulates Qi and supports internal energy
- Moistens the lungs
- Promotes digestion and strengthens the spleen and stomach
- Dispels cold and dampness
- Calms the mind and soothes the spirit
After a few cups:
- a gentle warmth appears
- then a slight perspiration
- leading to a feeling of deep well-being, like an inner sunbath
Dosage:
5 to 8 grams per infusion
Preparation:
Take 5 to 8 grams of grapefruit with the peel.
Avoid tap water, prefer low-mineralized water
- Classic infusion: light and delicate
- Boiling: powerful but less balanced
- Slow infusion / simmering (recommended): ideal method revealing all the aromatic richness and depth of the tea
Infuse hot or allow it to gently open to appreciate its multiple aromatic layers
Texture:
Rich, velvety, and full-bodied, with a complete and nourishing mouthfeel
Taste:
The initial taste may present a slight citrus zest in young teas, which disappears with aging to give way to a deep and enveloping sweetness.
Dominant notes:
- candied grapefruit
- honey
- white flowers
- ripe fruits
- sweet wood and herbaceous nuances
All supported by the characteristic roundness of Minnan Oolong tea (especially the Ba Xian / Eight Immortals cultivar), offering a long aromatic persistence.
Hue:
Deep orange to amber liquor, evoking a sunset, bright and warm
Storage:
Store in a dry, cool, and airy place, away from strong odors
Over time:
- the fruit's acidity disappears
- the sweetness intensifies
- the complexity deepens
A living tea, which continues to evolve year after year
Unique savoir-faire
Each piece is the result of demanding artisanal work:
the grapefruit is hollowed out, its pulp slightly processed, then mixed with Oolong tea according to traditional recipes.
The whole is placed back into the peel, tied, then slowly dried for several days over fire, until a compact and dark, almost mineral form is obtained.
The experience
Breaking the grapefruit… The aroma fills the space. Upon infusion, the liquor dances like autumn light, rich, deep, alive.
To drink this tea is to taste an ancient tradition,
between medicine, craftsmanship, and the art of time.
“Among all things, there is one that watches over your path… and guides you to accomplishment.”

from 41 reviewsThe textured mouthfeel of this shou is incredible! From the first infusuion you feel its density - silky and fuuull, spreading through the entire mouth and setting into oily, kind of waxy afterfeel... Yeah, afterfeel - as this tea is more about sensetions that unfold through the session...
The flavor profile leans toward deep earthy notes. Very grounded character, so dense but clean. And in the later infusions, especially when brewed a bit cooler, the profile shifts toward dark chocolate tones becoming rounder and softer
That brick become one of my favorites so fast after recieving the batch from Alexandre and the half of it went out very very quickly as its creamy earthy profile is sooooo addictive
This shou presents a dense, deeply woody profile. Mature wood notes emerge - full-bodied and gently enveloping
The liquor feels clean and clear and goes to nice orange tone after 6 brews while maintaining its dense woody characterr with increasing sweetness in each infusion
In the aftertaste sweet, silky cocoa unfolds - smooth and refined, like dark chocolate slowly melting on the tongue🙂↔️
P.S. the tea is really dense and can easily replace a meal:)
Just finished last 5g of this brick today morning so its a perfect time for a review
When it first arrived, maybe like 6-7 omonths ago, the tea showed his tannic stucture power and was super sharp BUT after few weeks of "resting" on the shelf it really opened up - the body become smoother, rounder and pleasant
With weekly sessions over the course of month the tea gradually reveled its character. Personally, I found it more enjoyable after the meals. The earthy base opened with cocoa depth and transitioned into a gentle tannic structure with a touch of sweetness, and overall remaining its round and deeply layered structure
I had never experienced that noticeable tannins in shou before this brick, so at first they felt a bit unusual. Through the time and explorings this and other shou they become very familiar. Lightly drying sensation in the mouth which arrived gently and faded quickly
For this price point, the experience you get feels muuuuuuuuch muuuuch more than fair
Appreciete you Alexandre!

I give seven stars out of seven. Great tea. Very tasty, refreshing, toning and invigorating. I also want to note that this cake lasts for a very long time. Super 🙌 , Alexander, thank you and express my respect 🫡!!!
Very good, time-tested and tasted tea by me personally, more than once. Excellent rich and at the same time soft taste. Very powerful effect and tangible benefits. A cup of this tea will not leave you indifferent. This is one of my favorites. There should always be such kindness. This is not my first brick, and I really recommend it to both connoisseurs and beginners. 👍👍👍Thank you! ☺️
I know that this raw puer has a wonderful taste of medium saturation and quite powerful and at the same time soft effect. Thank you Alexander for the constant quality! I recommend this tea to every connoisseur of truly high-quality healthy and invigorating drinks.
I have been a tea drinker for many years now, reading a lot about tea.
I was looking for tea pu erh resine since I’ve never tasted it.
That’ s how i found the « crème pu erh cuit » on Alexandre website « le meilleur thé de Chine ».
I really enjoyed drinking this crème de thé!
It taste like fermented tea no doubt about it , and it is very easy to prépare .
Great tea 🫖! I consider this option to be one of the most optimal in terms of price and quality ratio. Delicious taste, pleasant aroma and very noticeable effect. It feels like this product is really useful!
Discovered Chinese Resin Tea quite recently so went to the top-of-the-tree to compare. It took a while to tune in to various teas but I can now confidently say that this falls into that top category, quite delightful tea but the price is a bit of a stretch. Is it worth it? Yes, I will likely be tempted at some point again, I would suggest that you will never know what you missed until you try it.
Great product. Excellent taste, quality, and effect. A real raw Puerh. Connoisseurs will appreciate and understand what we are talking about! 👌🙂
I'm very satisfied. 😊 I really liked this tea. It is very dense and long-playing. Great taste, and the aroma already guarantees the quality.! 💪One of my favorites.
Great product. High quality combined with a rich aroma, such a unique taste, and an unforgettable aftertaste provides you with an equally unforgettable experience. I recommend this tea! 🫖 that's what you need. An important clarification - do not abuse otherwise it will be difficult to fall asleep and you will have to move a lot... 😁👍
