Origin: Menghai, Yunnan, China

Specificity: Cooked Pu'erh Tea Brick – Vintage 2005
A naturally aged, post-fermented tea produced from large leaves rich in active compounds, renowned for its stability, complexity, and rare medicinal potential.

Packaging: 250 grams, compressed brick.

Bouquet: Deep aromas of damp earth, ancient wood, and dried roots. The liquor reveals a distinctive ginseng-like fragrance, resulting from long aging. A harmonious balance of undergrowth, black fungus, leather, and medicinal herbs. Each infusion gains in suppleness and serenity.

Properties: This tea is traditionally renowned for its warming and digestive effects. It is particularly prized as an accompaniment to hearty meals or at the end of the day for its comforting properties. The natural medicinal flavor, which has developed over time, is reminiscent of invigorating Chinese infusions. Sought after by connoisseurs for its ability to balance Qi and calm the mind.

Dosage: 8 to 10 grams (up to 12 grams depending on the number of guests)

Preparation: Start by awakening the tea at 100°C with two quick rinses (2 to 3 seconds each).
Then, infuse at 90°C:

First infusion: 6 seconds

Second infusion: 9 seconds

Then, add 6 seconds to each new infusion.

This gradual infusion protocol allows for the extraction of the aromatic richness specific to ancient teas. The taste evolves from infusion to infusion, gaining in depth and finesse with each infusion.

Tonal: Ochre-brown liqueur with ruby highlights. The first infusions offer a lighter color, which gradually darkens until it evokes an old Port. The clarity of the infusion testifies to controlled fermentation and good aging.

Taste: Bold nuances of aged leather, medicinal roots, cedarwood, sweet tobacco, jujube, and barley cream. Added to this are deep earthy notes, typical of aged cooked Pu'erh. The medicinal character is distinct, natural, and unadulterated—a taste reminiscent of ginseng infusions or traditional Chinese decoctions. Silky texture, lingering sweetness, without bitterness or astringency. Perfect for the end of the day, introspective, or meditative moments.

Texture: Full, silky, slightly tannic, with a lovely length on the palate.

Storage: Store the carton in its original packaging.
Avoid airtight containers, humid areas, or areas with strong odors.
Prefer a quiet, temperate, open-air space—a shelf or a closed bookcase. This tea is a product for aging, whose medicinal and earthy aromas will continue to improve over the years. No consumption deadline.
